I was really inspired by one of Japanese animator's style and trying to mimic and learn. That style is basically like simple but realistic + only line and no tone. I like how it focuses on line and can't cheat by tone or other factors.

My faves are the two on the left on both pages. The hard straight lines displaying the contours makes it easy to see where the flat tones would have gone. Reminds me of Killer7 somehow. I like the expression of the bottom left char on the second page too.
